Our Commitment

Football is for everyone. Footie Talk should be too. We're committed to making our site accessible to all users — including those using screen readers, keyboard navigation, and assistive technologies.

Standards We Follow

We aim for WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance across all pages. This is an ongoing effort — we audit regularly and fix issues as they're found.

What We've Done

• Semantic HTML — Proper heading hierarchy (H1 → H2 → H3), landmark regions (header, main, nav, footer), and ARIA labels on interactive elements.
• Keyboard navigation — All interactive elements (links, buttons, the live ticker) are reachable and operable via keyboard alone.
• Color contrast — Text meets WCAG AA contrast ratios. Our rumor heat meter uses both color and text labels (RED HOT, HEATING UP, etc.) so color-blind users aren't excluded.
• Screen reader support — All images have alt text. Dynamic content (live ticker updates) uses ARIA live regions to announce changes.
• Resizable text — The site works at 200% zoom without content loss or horizontal scrolling.

Known Limitations

• Live ticker — The auto-refreshing transfer ticker may be distracting for some screen reader users. We're working on a "pause updates" control.
• Rumor Heat Meter — The visual heat indicator uses color gradients. We've added text labels, but the visual experience isn't fully replicated for non-visual users.
• Third-party embeds — If we embed tweets or social media content, their accessibility depends on the platform. We avoid embeds where possible.
